Hocus, Pocus…Time to Focus
The human brain wasn’t designed for multi-tasking anymore than ADD is an excuse for not starting and completing a task.
One of the best ways to overcome distractions is so tackle our tasks one at a time, and to see them through to the end. To do this, find a private space, turn off the phone, your email, close the door and stick to the task at hand. This will help you overcome many distractions allowing you to be more focused and way more productive.
To your success…

I agree. It all starts in the mind.
I once saw a study that determined that multi-tasking actually reduces productivity. So I definitely agree, the most productive environment is one with no distractions.
There are some – not I – that seem to thrive when there’s music in the background, but it’s safe to say that those are the ones that are driven out of their heads by silence. Again, I’m not one, but aren’t there lots of creative people whose working pace just hums on a diet of loose ends, disorder, and spontaneity?
Multi-tasking is mostly for those that are bored with their work, and it does fragment ‘follow through’, and what’s worse, obfuscate what has really been accomplished at the end of the day.
