The really cool thing about mini-goals is that you earn the right for a mini-celebration every time you achieve one of those mini-goals.
Very useful info – thanks!
Great teaching point, thanks!
Thanks, Augie, for the information about mini-goals. Now just to implement them…
Thanks for the information about the Mini-Goals. Eating an elephant one-bite at a time is really the best way to look at it.
Mini goals are like mini wars. The more you win the more confidence you get before your main challenge. 90% of new years resolutions fade away within a month because people set one big goal without plan on how they are going to execute it – mini goals. Good stuff Augie!
People need to be realistic when setting goals for themselves. They shouldn’t set goals they know its not possible to achieve at a particular time plan.
Doing this will only get them frustrated.
Thanks

I’m a big proponent of intermediate goals which act like stair steps to achieving larger long term goals. If you want to make a million dollars and you are dead broke than a good interim goal is to make $10,000 first, then $20,000 and maybe $50,000 and simply work your way up the ladder. The key is in setting the goals in a way that makes them achievable and then tang the necessary action. I find it a rare thing that a frustrated person is truly committed to their goal.
to your success…
