At every level a coach is still a big part of success. The best athletes in the world have coaches. You would think at some point in a career a coach is not required to be successful but a coach or mentor is always going to pay a dividend.

I think this lesson is especially true of real estate, where there are so many variables and conditions to take into consideration. It also seems to be that the "insider's information" is so valuable to professionals that they don't want to share it with anyone, thus making it difficult to learn. This is great advice for anyone looking into real estate investment.

Personal coaching is a relationship which is designed and defined in a relationship agreement between a client and a coach. It is based on the client's expressed interests, goals and objectives.

I agree a good teacher can make a significant difference especially when the student is ready and motivated. The challenge with many TV and other programs presented isn't as much in the program or system as it is in the user (or should I say lack of user). Many people are looking for a get rich scheme. Real estate is best used as a get wealthy slow scheme...and I mean seriously wealthy. It requires discipline and commitment.

When I teach seminars, I half-jokingly remind the audience that the greatest inhibitor of success in most fields of endeavor is cellophane because all too often people purchase the materials and never even open the package. If we want to change our outcomes we have to be willing to change ourselves.

As Albert Einstein so aptly put it, the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over expecting a different result.

Whether the Home Study course is mine or anyone else's, they do not work if you don't open them study, practice and take action. With the right knowledge and an understanding of the process, virtually anyone can do it. It is the willingness of the student to commit and act.

Thanks for a great question!

Hi,

You can never succeed without a teacher. Thus, when it comes to Real Estate, you need a Coach.

However, I want to ask you a question: What are your thoughts about the Home-Study course that is aired on TV everyday? Is it realistic?

Getting involved in real state is a serious scenario. An individual with no knowledge regarding real estate would surely be at risk withouta a coaching staff at your side. They could give you the right vision and perspective to choose regarding buying and selling real estate.

You've really given great information. Thanks for sharing!

Why I have a coach, my coach helps us navigate the challenges and recognize the opportunities business owners face every day. There are days I just don’t have it in me to lead, I need to get coached up!

Without a consistent review of the aforementioned score board, action plans and results, the likelihood of achievement on what is "wildly important" depreciates exponentially. This is one of the more important elements of a successful coaching relationship. The coach should highlight both the positive progression as well as the regression made. A coach should help identify alternatives if there is an obstacle to performance or behaviors. Accountability, although loathed by most commercial brokers, is one of the key differences of top performers and the general brokerage public.

Thanks for the comment. A coach is tasked with bringing about the best results of the student/player. Financial literacy is only one part of a real estate coach's responsibility, encouragement, guidance, accountability, and feedback are other critical elements. A coach is there to help build skills, endurance, a winning attitude and successful results.

you mean a coach as a mentor in handling money. real estate involves a sizable amount of cash, it's no joke losing a half of those for nothing! so a good coach is what this 'sport' needs :D
